The Girl’s Volleyball team has gone 3-2 in the past two weeks, extending their record to an impressive 11-5.
On Tuesday, Oct. 10 they beat Hastings 3-0.
The following day they defeated Yonkers Montessori behind eight aces, eight kills, eight digs, and 12 assists from Sophomore Kylie Canton.
The team struggled in their next two outings, losing 3-0 to Sleepy Hollow on Friday, October 13th, and 3-1 to Putnam Valley on Monday, October 16th.
They bounced back on Tuesday, October 17th, beating Woodlands 3-0. Emma Friedman had 10 digs and three aces while Jelena Herceg had one kill, one ace, and three digs
With only two more games left in the regular season, the Girl’s have surpassed expectations. Coach Gia Saul said, “My goal starting this season was to finish with a winning record and to ensure that the players progress throughout the season… Right now, I am hopeful that I will be able to say these goals were met by the end of the season.” Being five games over .500, it’s safe to say that the team has made their coach proud. They look to continue to do so heading into the playoffs.
