After the Varsity Boys Soccer Team stole the game on their homecoming night, they’ve been following up their successful play in subsequent games, claiming victory after victory.
On Tuesday, September 26, Irvington beat Bronxville 7-2. Team captain Brandon Dhanoolal, along with Johnny Guerrero, and Santiago Gonzalez each scored 2 goals. Will Tuckett scored 1 goal and Jack Van Der Spuy had 5 saves.
The team carried their win streak after beating YMA on September 27th. Brandon, Santiago, Jack, and Will Tuckett all scored a goal. Yifeng Zhen scored 2 and the game ended 7-2 Irvington. Dhanoolal, Joseph Rosario, Yifeng, and Eviatar Frechter all had assists and Massimo Ferrari made 4 saves.
In a match on the following day, Irvington won 5-2 against Hastings, with Brandon scoring 3 goals and Santiago scoring 2. Johnny Guerrero, Griffin Warner, and Santiago each had an assist while Bodie Sivere had 2 assists.
With the soccer season becoming quite promising, the team captain is eager to maintain their effective strategies.
“We are a good group of players,” said Brandon. “We just got to send the message.”
