The 2023-2024 Student Council elections are approaching. The student council speeches will be held in the Campus Theater after 7th period on Tuesday, June 6th.
By listening to the speeches, the IHS community will be able to learn more about the candidates and their plans for the upcoming school year.
The two candidates running for school president are Jacob Constantine and Ciara Lyons. The positions of school vice president, secretary/treasurer, and media liaison are all uncontested. Indy Minkoff is running for school vice president, Amanda Berry is running for school secretary/treasurer, and Tessa McRae is running for school media liaison.
Gloria Song is running unopposed for the position of the Class of 2024 president. The candidates running for the Class of 2024 vice president are Jason Ahn and Elliot Riseman. The candidates running uncontested for the Class of 2024 representatives are Anders Knapp and Maxwell Ma.
The candidates running for the Class of 2025 president are Olivia Liu, Massimo Ferrari, and Jack Vanderspuy. The candidates running for the Class of 2025 vice president are Sadie McRae and Alexandra Cloutman. The candidates running for the Class of 2025 secretary/treasurer are Henry Lobel and Jack Silverman. Annie McFeetors is running uncontested for the position of the Class of 2025 representative.
The three candidates running for the Class of 2026 president are Jayin Sawhney, Julia Welter, and Remment Wise. The candidates running for the Class of 2026 vice president are Noah Brenner, Laiba Shauket, and Haidan Wiles. The remaining positions for the class of 2024 are all unopposed. Daisy Hodges is running for secretary/treasurer, and Luke Calabrese is running for representative.
The Class of 2027 student council positions are all heavily contested. The candidates running for the Class of 2027 president are Jonah Tubman, Liliana Brandwein, and Abigail Choi. The candidates running for the Class of 2027 vice president are Oonagh Brandon, Eden Mainiero, Gianna Phillips, and Aaron Portnoy. The candidates running for the Class of 2027 secretary/treasurer are Zoya Bhandari, Zoe Cantillana, and Gabriela Vukelj. The candidates running for the Class of 2027 representatives are Dahlia Anenberg, Suhani Arya, Justin Barger, Ben Epple, and Iris Ma.
Elections will take place through a Google form posted to each grade’s Google Classroom. Voting closes at 3:30 on Thursday. The winners will be announced over the loudspeaker on Friday morning.
