Coachella 2023: A Chaotic, Fun, Mess!

By Daisy Hodges

That’s a Wrap! Coachella 2023 went by fast, but a lot happened; scandals, new couples, backlash and more. Both weekends featured incredible artists like Frank Ocean, Black Pink, Bad Bunny and many more. The music festival in desert of Palm Springs has been a craze since the early 2000s for social media influencers. Tickets are priced at $550 dollars, however many pay thousands upon thousands for the life-changing three day experience.

One of the main headliners, Frank Ocean, performed on Sunday during the first weekend. The fans that could not make it in person were still able to watch via livestream, until Frank Ocean decided to shut it down. Fans took to social media bashing Youtube and the artist himself, saying they were ripped off and scammed. Frank showed up an hour late to his set, and during the performance opened up about the death of his brother and how Coachella was one of their favorite shared memories together. The performance was only about 30 minutes, leaving his avid fans angry and wanting more from their beloved artist. This was his first performance in about 7 years, so his underwhelming Coachella appearance was certainly a bitter surprise to many.

Another main aspect of the festival: the outfits. Outfits of Coachella are usually meticulously planned with extravagant costumes and outfits, influencers going all out wearing their favorite designer brands. Alix Earle, a popular Tik Tok personality, wore a reflective dress to the event, a creative outfit for the stylish influencer.

On the second weekend, Labyrinth played as headliner for the weekend. The band has gained lots of popularity from its hit songs that were played in Euphoria, an HBO Max classic.Zendaya shocked everyone when she showed up on stage to perform alongside the band. The Emmy winner had also been a singer in her past career, and her voice was beautiful.

All in all, Coachella 2023 had its unique moments, but the influencer filled festival always has the same theme; exorbitant.
