Tiny Habits is a band, which formed in 2020, comprised of three musicians: Maya Rae, Cinya Khan, and Judah Mayowa. The three hail from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mass., and are quite active on social media accounts such as TikTok and Instagram, posting videos of covers and originals.

Their tight bond is obvious to anyone who watches them play music together, and makes their music truly special and heartfelt. Rae said, “We keep each other grounded, something really important (to us) is being authentic.”

In 2022, they were asked by the popular Lizzy McApline, also a former Berklee student, to perform at her Tiny Desk Concert for NPR Music. Shortly after, they joined Ingrid Michaelson on her tour for a few shows as her opener.

Since then, their most notable accomplishment has been being the opener for Gracie Abrams, a indie-pop singer-songwriter who has also recently been rising to stardom, but in a greater capacity. When I saw them live this past March at the Abrams’s concert, their performance was absolutely stunning and certainly memorable. Their performance felt intimate and private, and left the audience dazzled. Captivating vocals made it so that you could practically hear a pin drop.

Tiny Habits released their debut EP entitled Tiny Things on April 12. The title track “Tiny Things” was released first as a single, and set the stage for a great EP. In total there are six songs, each fiercely unique and original. Their voices blend together seamlessly, and perfectly scratch an itch on the brains of all who listen.

The future of the three musicians, and still active college students, looks bright and very promising. If you give them a listen and like what you hear, you can catch them on their “Tiny Tour” in June.
