On the morning of Wednesday the 26th, an email was sent to the teachers alerting them to a roster problem on eSchool. The issue affected class rosters and students’ grades throughout all quarters.
Teachers reported that students who were not in any of their classes were now appearing on their class rosters and grade books. Additionally, some students were missing from their rosters completely. It was also found to not only affect grades in the third and fourth quarters but the first and second as well.
Irvington has been operating without a Director of Technology since March after the former DOT needed to resign due to an undisclosed private matter, so superintendent Dr. Kristopher Harrison and assistant superintendent Gail Duffy are acting as stand-ins while the district works to hire a new one.
As of this report, the rosters appeared to return to normal; however, grades entered today by teachers were reportedly lost. There was no word on whether the issue could potentially lead to a delay with the release of quarter 3 report cards.
When asked, students noticed the different grades and classes. Some are missing classes entirely, while others have different teachers.
Sophomore Arya Bose says, “I was shocked when I saw that my grades had changed, but since everyone was talking about it, I felt assured that it was just a temporary issue.”
