The Asian American club was started by sophomores Olivia Liu and Martina Albay in order to create a space for Asian Americans to talk about their culture and share their experiences. “I just want people to feel comfortable around each other,” Liu says.
So far, the club has had discussions about what they would like to do during future clubs, such as celebrating future holidays, watched the Japanese film Spirited Away, and breifly talked about the Lunar New Year. Liu plans to create a community service project sometime in the near future in order to help an Asian foundation.
The club is going to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in May. They will be doing some fun activities. If you have any ideas for the club, just email either one of the leaders.
