Damar Hamlin, a Buffalo Bills football player recently went into cardiac arrest after a normal tackle.
Damar Hamlin has the ability to live a normal life today because of the CPR which was administered immediately on the field, ultimately reviving his heartbeat.
There are a lot of stories with similar outcomes around us and just like Damar Hamlin, it is apparent that the simple task of performing CPR can save a life.
Thus, the skills involved with administering CPR are beneficial to everyone, everywhere because you never know if you will find yourself in a similar situation to Damar Hamlin.
IHS senior, Lindsay Mosberg, received a grant which will allow 100 IHS community members to become CPR certified. The grant will enable students and teachers that participate in the CPR training class to be fully certified at no charge.
There will be four available opportunities to be certified by attending one session. The sessions will be held at the Campus gym on 3/20 at 3:45pm, 3/23 at 3:45pm, 4/15 at 10am, and 4/22 at 10am.
Each session will consist of 25 people. The sign up sheets will be posted very soon.
This is a very exciting opportunity for the IHS community.
