Winter Track Finish Third in League Meet

On Wednesday, January 4, the Irvington boys and girls winter track teams competed in the League 3A Championships. The meet was held at the New York City Armory Track, and both the boys and girls teams finished third in their leagues thanks to strong individual performances, including three first-place finishes for each group. 

Within the league, the Bulldogs faced Briarcliff, Bronxville, Pleasantville, Putnam Valley, and Westlake in the championships. 

The girls team had first-place wins from junior Ciara Lyons, senior Luciana Forte, and senior Lila Juenger. 

Lyons finished first in the 55m hurdles. Additionally, Forte took first place in the 600 meter and third place in the 300 meter. Lastly, Juenger finished first in the 1600m race walk. The girls also had an outstanding performance in the 4×400 relay and ended up snagging second place in the race. 

The boys team had first-place finishes from sophomore Tane Kim, senior Ryan Carron, and senior Miles Demarest. 

Kim took first place in the long jump. Irvington pole vaulters took first, second and third place by Ryan Carron, Ben Kasoff, and Isaac Turano, respectively. Demarest won the triple jump and took second in the 55m hurdles and 600 meter. The boys team also finished third in the 4×200 relay.
