As fall sports come to a close, winter sports take the attention of many athletes. Set to begin in mid-november, many teams have taken an optimistic approach to the season.
A Cross-country standout, Junior Indy Minkoff spoke about his outlook on the upcoming winter track season. “Winter track is obviously a little less competitive than cross country and spring track, but we should have a fun season and have fun going to the Armory,” said Minkoff. I think it should be a fun and a good season.” The team shows a lot of promise and remains hopeful for this winter.
The Varsity Wrestling team, a team which had lots of success in the past, has been focused on a rebuild. Samuel Andrade, a Sophomore wrestler said, “We are looking to create a new environment with the team. We want to get used to our new head coach and hopefully win a league title.”
The previous wrestling coach, Benjamin Karol stepped down over the summer, which brought in a new head coach Edgar Solis, who had been an assistant coach for the last few years. The team hopes to start out strong this winter with their fresh start.
