Ms. GM and the Irvington High School staff have decided to cancel midterm week, which was originally scheduled for January 24th to January 28th.
This decision comes as a result of the ongoing pandemic, as the Omicron COVID-19 strain continues to spread rapidly throughout our community. New York State already decided to cancel the January Regents approximately two weeks ago.
Teachers will be allowed to administer an in class midterm exam if they wish, and continue with any midterm projects that may have been scheduled for that week. Teachers will follow the fall testing day schedule in order to prevent students from having many tests on the same day.
The fall testing schedule consists of Monday- English, Social Studies, Art; Tuesday- Math, Science; Wednesday- English, World Language, Art; Thursday- Social Studies, Math, Health; Friday- World Language, Science, Health.
Midterms typically count towards 10% of a student’s final grade for the class. The school has decided that the 10% will be evenly distributed over the four quarters and final exam.
This news will be released to families in the Friday blast email sent to parents with a student at IHS.
