Christian Petroni is Back at it Once Again

by Ben Hymowitz

On Wednesday, November 10th, Christian Petroni unveiled a pizza pop-up at the El Dorado III on Central Avenue in Scarsdale. At the pop-up, he served garlic butter Sicilian slices and homemade tiramisu. He also included the selling of his “Gabagool” merchandise including hats, tees, and more.

The pop-up featured former Fortina chef Spencer Miles, who is the brother of Las Vegas Restauranter Marc Marrone. Miles worked at Fortina for two years and recently left to open the New York chapter of his brother’s restaurant creation, Graffiti Bao. He also hosted a dinner a couple of weeks ago, with Petroni, which boasted celebrities like Martha Stewart.

The slices were heavy and boasted an unending flavor. The pizza was cooked in a “designer” oven named Marra Forni, and then finished on a gas-burning grill to crisp up the crust. The flavor of the pizza was indescribable and, having been made with freshly picked oregano, the flavor was enhanced even further. 11/10, Hymo approved.

Petroni’s Tiramisu is actually his mother, Fiorella’s, recipe. It was light, airy, and tasted like angels came down from heaven and blessed it. 100/10, Hymo approved.

I eagerly await to see what chef Christian Petroni has up his sleeve next, and look forward to his future endeavors.
