Top 3 Met Gala Outfits of 2021

Emma Chamberlain on Her First Met Gala With Louis Vuitton | POPSUGAR Fashion

By Sofie Ahmad

There were many interesting, unique, and powerful outfits in the 2021 Met Gala event. The ones that stood out the most particularly were Emma Chamberlain, Kendall Jenner, and Alexandra Ocasio Cortez.

Starting off with Emma Chamberlain. Her dress was asymmetrical and she was wearing Louis Vuitton. The top was two diamond shapes of fabric that connected together. Chamberlain’s dress was on the simpler side of Met Gala outfits. It was definitely classy, but a little edgy as well. Moving on to the bottom half of her dress, there was a slit next to her leg and the dress leaned more to one side of her body. Chamberlain told PopSugar that she wanted a more open top part. She also told the site that she loved the daintiness of the dress.

Kendall Jenner Just Wore a Naked Dress to the Met Gala | Who What Wear

Next we have Kendall Jenner in her stunning dress by Givenchy. While this dress is very pretty and perfect for the Met Gala, it is extremely showy and very bold. This dress was covered in gorgeous diamonds all across the neck and down the dress. Her dress was very see-through. However, she was wearing a nude bodysuit under it. The top of her dress was low cut and went down the sides of her arm. The bottom of the dress was very basic and flowy. Kendall Jenner told Insider that she wanted to resemble Audrey Hepburn and the dress she wore as Eliza Doolittle in “My Fair Lady.”

AOC caused a stir with her statement-making Met Gala gown - CNN Style

Moving on we have a very politically charged dress from AOC (Alexandra Ocasio Cortez). Her dress was a white long ruffled end dress with a low cut at her chest. Besides the beautiful white long dress, the statement really caught my eye. AOC’s dress had the statement ‘Tax The Rich” in big red letters. AOC is one of the United States Representatives. She is a Democrat and took a stand at the Met Gala. The New York Times says that many people were strongly offended by this word choice and statement that AOC made. This dress is very controversial and many people had a lot to say about it.
