Dr. Harrison and the Irvington School District recently announced the appointment of Dr. Gail Duffy as the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and Human Resources.
This role is nothing new for Dr. Duffy, as she previously served as assistant superintendent for administration and instruction and a director of curriculum and instruction at neighboring Tarrytown Public Schools.
Dr. Duffy is excited to join Irvington and has been impressed with the school district.
“As I participated in the interview process, it was very clear to me there is a strong focus on children, connection and community throughout the district. This resonates with me as an educator, parent and life-long learner.”
Dr. Duffy has a bachelor’s degree in special education from SUNY Plattsburgh, a master’s degree in curriculum instruction and a master’s degree in administration and supervision from Pace University. Finally, Dr. Duffy has a doctoral degree in educational leadership from Manhattanville College.
Starting this summer, Dr. Duffy says she is looking forward to getting to know the Irvington students, families, and staff.
“I hope to develop strong relationships with students, teachers, staff, administrators, parents and the Board of Education where I can inspire all members of the learning community to learn, grow and become the best versions of themselves.”
Dr. Duffy will step into her role as assistant superintendent on July 1st, replacing interim Asst. Superintendent Mary Ellis.
