The loss of last spring’s lacrosse season due to school closing was a hard hit for the team, yet the boys varsity lacrosse team still came out strong this year. The team ended their regular season games with an impressive 12-3 standing, placing them as the first seed as they enter sectionals. The team’s placing gave them a bye for the first round of sectionals. Their quarterfinal game on Monday, June 7th will be against Dobbs Ferry at the Meszaros Field.
The team’s leading scorers were Liam and Ethan Pakola, Isaiah Boyles, and Jake Stein with 50, 34, 27, and 22 goals respectively. The Bulldog’s goalie, Andi Bushati, was also a huge asset to the team’s success with his many saves throughout the season.
“We’ve had a really great season. Everyone on the team works together and gets along really well which helps us. Irvington hasn’t got the one seed in a really long time so we’re super excited to see what we can do in sectionals,” stated senior captain Jake Stein.
