The day New York sports fans have been waiting for has come, as spring training is coming to an end and opening day is just about a week away.
Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that Citi Field and Yankee Stadium will be re opening to the fans at 20% capacity. But even if you manage to score a ticket, there are some very strict rules that have to be followed.
Mask wearing and social distancing will be enforced and fans must provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test. Fans will also be required to have their temperatures taken before entering the stadiums.
Game tickets will be sold in socially distanced pods, with the first tickets going to season ticket holders. There will be no paper tickets and no cash accepted inside the stadiums.
“The crowd makes the ballgame,” said Gov. Cuomo. “So, we’re going to play ball and we’re going to play ball with a crowd.”
