A documentary about singer Britney Spears titled “Framing Britney Spears” created by The New York Times, tells the heart-wrenching story of Spear’s career, relationships, and the control that her father has over her, called a conservatorship.
Basically, a conservatorship is something that is signed in court granting a parent or guardian guardianship over a person. In most circumstances, conservatorship are used when a person is ill, or can’t make decisions for themselves.
In Spear’s case, a conservatorship was set up by the courts when she was in the hospital in the early 2000s, but it is still in affect today, despite the fact that she is 39.
It is still unclear why her father can legally have a censorship over her, but experts are trying to fight for Britney.
