Although the state and county decision was already approved in late January, the Irvington Board of Ed. had yet to give their approval until recently. But now high-risk sports are officially approved for Irvington Athletics. This means that all of the following sports were allowed to begin with appropriate precautions in place such as masks and sanitizing: basketball, ice hockey, volleyball, football, and lacrosse.
As for wrestling, there is yet to be a decision regarding the approval of their season. And with that, we continue our weekly sports update for the Winter Season sports:
Week of February 15th, 2021
Varsity Girls Basketball
- Lost to Hastings on Saturday, February 20th
Varsity Boys Basketball:
- Lost to Dobbs Ferry on Saturday, February 20th
Varsity Fencing
- Women’s foil and epee placed second in the region
- Men’s foil placed second in the region
- Men’s epee placed 3rd in the region
