The Irvington Bulldogs fall seasons have come to a close, and awards have been given out.
Varsity Girls Soccer:
After exiting the regional tournament in the semifinal round and finishing with a positive record on the season at 5-4-2, the Bulldogs had some exceptional standout players that earned Section 1 accolades. Three-year varsity starting goalkeeper Sara Gavagan earned a spot on Section 1’s All-Section list, followed by second-year varsity starter Kaitlyn Kreiger who earned All Section Honorable Mention as well. Last, but certainly not least, freshman Niki Denardo earned a spot on Conference 3-A’s All-League list. Another big congratulations to graduating seniors Lara Greene, Pearl Chalsen, Aine Cleary, and Hannah Waters.
Varsity Boys Soccer:
After a successful 5-5 season for the boys varsity soccer team, many starters were noticed by Section 1 coaches and received Section 1 awards to cap off the season. The boy’s All Section honorees were juniors Isaiah Boyles and Oscar Bowring, and All Section Honorable Mention awards went to junior Harrison Kreig and senior Liam Pakola. And a huge congratulations to graduating seniors Liam Pakola, Jonathan Kroop, Joseph Song, and Mohammed Ahmed.
Varsity Cross Country:
Despite the adversity of this year’s crazy season, the cross country team took home their second Section 1 title in three years. Not only did they have several runners finishing in the top time slots of their respective races, but several runners were also named to the All-County team as a result of their impressive seasons. Alex Bjorgvinsson, Liam Lyons, Lulu Forte, and Isabella Berger all earned a spot on the All-County third team for their impressive seasons this year. Congratulations runners and another huge congratulations to all of our senior bulldogs on the cross country team.
Varsity Girls Field Hockey:
Returning all but two seniors from last year’s team, the girls field hockey team picked up right where they left off and grew immensely as a team, finishing the seasoning with an impressive run in the regional tournament, exiting in the semifinal round. The girls had several standout players that were recognized by coaches around Section 1, as Hannah Tuckett, Danielle Stassa, Kate Hanna, Lexy Downes, and Kayla Mizrachi were all named All-League players! And a special congratulations to graduating seniors Kayla Mizrachi, Sam Schoenfarber, Jessica Logozio, and Kate Hanna.
Varsity Girls Tennis:
Finishing off an amazing season including a second place finish in the regional tournament for women’s doubles and an unbeaten season, the girls tennis team had a couple standout players that were recognized throughout Section 1. Senior Charlotte Calick and Sophomore Clio Salles-spar earned a spot on the Westchester/Putnam All-Star Second-team, and our very own Hall of Fame Women’s Basketball coach and Irvington icon Ms. Maher earned Coach of the Year as well, showing her amazing coaching abilities on the tennis court as well. Congratulations on a great tennis season.
