While many of us took up baking from scratch during quarantine, senior Taylor Lee took quarantine baking to the next level, expanding her baking interests and using her Facebook and Instagram accounts to document her breathtaking creations. She has also started and continues taking commissions for local orders.
Her Instagram account can be found at @tlc_bakes. She has created a plethora of cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and more, each with different themes. Some of her academic-themed creations have been gifted to teachers like Mr. Williams, Mr. Barry and Mr. Markic. Other themes include a dinosaur park, doughnut-shaped cookies, and musical tributes.
Taylor started her account for fun and to document her creations.
“The tlc in the @tlc_bakes is for Taylor Lee creations which is like a mini business I started in sixth grade to sell paintings mainly just for family friends,” Taylor said. “I started posting my baking stuff on Facebook and then decided I wanted to create an Instagram just for baking to have fun.”
She talked about the future for tlc_bakes and what she wanted to do for the future.
“I might work on a website in the future, but for right now I see baking as more of a hobby and something fun for me rather than something too serious or official. But I do sometimes take orders if I have the time!”
