On October 25, the varsity girls cross country team took down Bronxville, who has run the section for years. This was a huge accomplishment for the team, as it was their first time beating Bronxville in 45 seasons.
Star runners Isabella Berger and Lulu Forte came in together at 22 minutes and 33 seconds for second and third place.
They were followed up by Lauren Allan, Joanna Paul, and Isabella Moyer getting fifth, sixth, and 11th place. This led to a 27-29 Irvington win.
As the season winds down the girls will have a chance to compete in the Rivertown cup on November 6. Winning this would be another accomplishment in an already successful season for the girls cross country team.
It appears sectionals may be on, so the cross country team will have more work to do there. The cross country team will try to complete their season with more impressive victories from both the boys and girls teams.
