On Tuesday, June 16, the Irvington community voted overwhelming to pass the 2020-21 school district budget with 1,113 votes in favor and 384 against.
According to budget documents, the total budget of $64,556,500 is a .1% increase over the previous school year.
During the May 5 budget meeting, the district leaders acknowledged that there may be a need to modify the budget due to the economic impact of COVID-19 on state aid.
Also of concern is the possible new operating costs associated with re-opening safely in the midst of the continuing health crisis.
Three new board trustees were elected as well: Brian Friedman, Maura Gedid, and Jayne Wissner.
