Fans of the hit 1994 TV series Friends, rejoice!
As confirmed by all six of the show’s main cast members on Instagram, as well as on the show’s official Instagram account, the cast is reuniting for a special show to air exclusively on HBO Max.
The special, which will reportedly be an unscripted panel show, is set to be available in May 2020, coinciding with the launch of HBO Max, and will also reportedly be shot on the same stage that the original show was.
In addition to this new reunion, the original show will also be available to stream on the new service, after the show was removed from Netflix in January.
An official release date or any details involving specifically what the new release will include have not been confirmed yet. It is also unclear whether the current coronavirus pandemic will affect the roll out of the new streaming service.
When it debuts, HBO Max will also include Dr. Who, the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, The Big Bang Theory, South Park and all 21 of Studio Ghibli’s animated features, such as My Neighbor Totoro, the Spirited Away, and The Wind Rises.
