IHS first traveled to Italy, then Spain, and now it’s time for France. The World Languages department has announced that there will be a trip to France for the upperclassmen.
Callie Crespo, a French student said, “I’m excited for the French trip because I think it will be interesting to be immersed in the culture that we’ve learned so much about.”
The trip will occur next year, beginning on Wednesday, April 1st and concluding the following Wednesday on April 8th. After the students leave the airport they will start their journey in Paris and visit places all throughout France such as Avignon, an aesthetically pleasing city in Southeastern France; Niemes, a city filled with relics and monuments from Ancient Rome; and the well known city of Versailles before the trip concludes in Nice.
Madame Dupre encourages students to attend the trip and is enthusiastic about the excursion and the educational experience.
“I love as a teacher seeing all you’ve learned — to see that you now are speaking to strangers and they are understanding,” said Madame Dupre. “And you’ll learn a little bit of history and geography and be with your friends.”
The trip will allow students to explore a different culture and extend their knowledge, along with updating their Instagram.
The sign up for the trip will be based on a first come, first serve basis. The cost of the trip has not been pinpointed to an exact amount, although it is estimated the trip will cost around $3,000-$3,500. As the cost is hefty, there are talks of creating a fundraiser for the trip which would allow for more people to attend.
The French department welcomes those who are able to attend and have put it in efforts to create a great experience.
