On Thursday, June 6th, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and Human Resources Dr. Raina Kor announced that she would be retiring from the Irvington School District in January of next year in an email to the district.
In her email, she wrote, “There is so much I can say about all that I have learned, and the so many individuals who have made me a better educator and person. I will leave Irvington with many memories, friendships and experiences that I know will stay with me as I figure out this next chapter in my life. I hope that in each one of my roles in district, I have left the position and building in a better place, and ready for the next level of work to be provided by my successor.”
Superintendent Kris Harrison also sent out an email, commenting on Dr.Kor’s resignation.
“There is no question that her work, passion and dedication has helped to advance the quality of education the District affords its students. Please join me in congratulating Raina. However, we will have much time to celebrate her career and wish her well over the next six months.”
The District is now preparing to begin the hiring process for the next Assistant Superintendent for Instruction. Irvington is currently looking to fill several administrative openings this summer, including a new high school principal, athletic director and director of technology.
