Can LeBron Put Cavs on his Back… Again?

LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers has won three NBA titles and is seeking a fourth and it is very unlikely.  LeBron James is arguably playing his best basketball at 33 years old but that may not be enough.  In the history of the NBA, nobody has been able to carry a team on his back like LeBron James.

In his 15 NBA season, LeBron has less help than ever.  The second best player on the Cavaliers in Kevin Love who has been riddled with injuries all season limiting him to play the least amount of minutes per game in the regular season since his rookie season in 2009.  The Cavaliers also have Jose Calderon, Jeff Green, J.R. Smith, and Kyle Korver getting tons of playing time.  Jose Calderon is 36 years old and looks lost.  Jeff Green is 31 years old and has struggled all season.  J.R. Smith scored the second fewest points per games in his 13 year career during the regular season at 32 years old.  Kyle Korver, well… he is 37 years old.  LeBron is more alone than ever.

LeBron James, year after year, is expected to carry his team to the promise land and an NBA title.  This is his eight straight Finals appearance but down 2-0 to the Golden State Warriors, his chances of lifting a fourth trophy look bleak.

Still, this is LeBron James and if anyone can overcome a mediocre supporting cast, it might be King James. Nobody is the history of the NBA has played as well and put up numbers in their 15th season like LeBron James. With his 6-foot, 8-inch, 250-lb. frame, he is unstoppable in the paint.  Not only can he score at will in the paint, he is considered the best passer at the small forward position in NBA history.  LeBron James is a dual threat and when he gets the ball in the paint, the opposing defense is in big trouble.

If LeBron can lead his team to an NBA championship this postseason, the conversation of who is the greatest NBA player of all-time might be settled once and for all.
