Beginning her second year of teaching , Ms. Lily Jasper, the most recent addition to the Irvington social studies department is excited and passionate for this school year.
From initially doing work with a law firm, Ms. Jasper quit her job to pursue a career in teaching instead. She currently teaches Global 9 part-time at the high school.
Ms. Jasper spent her first year of teaching at Martin Luther King, Jr. High School in the city before finding herself at Irvington.
The transition from the city to Irvington was a noticeable change, she admits.
“It’s different,” she said. “It’s great. I really like the students. They are energetic, sweet, and great. And I love my department. I love the administration. I love everything about Irvington.”
Ms. Jasper actually lived in Irvington and attended Irvington schools briefly in her childhood before moving to Yorktown. Ms. Jasper enjoys baking, reading, running, and spending time with her dog.
