On December 9th, former Irvington principal Scott Mosenthal was appointed interim principal at Rye Neck high school.
Irvington’s former beloved principal for 15 years is filling in for Barbara Ferraro, Rye Neck’s former principal, and new Superintendent.
Before Dr Mo’s years as a principal, he was an English teacher at Irvington, who taught many current Irvington students’ parents when they attended Irvington. He then moved on to become the principal at Irvington for 15 years before retiring
Gina Maher, Irvington’s varsity girls basketball head coach, and Dr Mosenthal’s friend for many years was happy for Rye Neck and Dr Mo.
She said, “Rye Neck is really lucky to get Dr Mo. He is the epitome of what a good high school principal should be. He brings spirit. He cares about the kids, and he will know the name of every kid in the high school by the end of the second week.”
Dr Mosenthal will leave Rye Neck after this year, when Rye Neck finds a full time participant for the job. He will then continue his retirement.
