The junior varsity girls volleyball team ended their season in 1st place in the Briarcliff Booster Club tournament, defeating Hastings, Rye Neck, Valhalla, Briarcliff, and Alexander Hamilton. They won every game they played except for one.
The girls maintained a 17-1 win to loss ratio this season, and beat Briarcliff in the finals with a 25-19 final score.
“The girls really worked hard and took our team to the next level in winning that tournament . They played with heart and dedication to doing the best they could. They never let me down and knew what it meant to work together as a team,” said Irvington JV volleyball coach, Karen DeMartino.
DeMartino named Samantha Nadasi and Grazianna Ricciardella as the all-tournament players, and Carli Stern and Rachel Gideon team MVPs. Exceptional plays were also made by Hana Hamad and Kelly Degnan. “I’m so proud of all of us, we worked hard and it payed off. I had a lot of fun,” shared Samantha Nadasi.
