Tour of Hong Kong (Red Subway Line)

I recently went to Hong Kong over winter break. This is a tiny tour of one subway line out of the various lines in Hong Kong that people can visit. The red subway line contains one of the most famous tourist attractions. Choose your station and follow the directions depending on where you want to visit:

From the airport …

Take the red subway line (Tseun Wan Line)

Mongkok… go to Line 1

  • Major shopping area, streets filled with markets, restaurants, food stalls, and residential units
  • Many unique local stores and restaurants
  • One of the busiest districts in the world

 

Tsim Sha Tsui… go to Line 2

  • Urban area in Kowloon
  • Major tourist hub many high-end shops and restaurants that cater to tourists, many museums

   Markets… go to Line 5

   Shopping Mall and More Sophisticated Places… Line 7

 

  1. The Avenue of Stars… go to Line 4

   Kowloon Park… go to Line 6

   Star Ferry Pier… go to Line 8

  1. Street Food (HK speciality)*- scattered on all streets

   Temple Street Night Market-

  • Everyday after sun sinks, numerous traders, street performers and fortune tellers gather in the bustling market
  • Nice spot to experience local culture and traditional craftsmanship, as well buy lots of souvenirs, including antiques, jade, clothing, tea ware, and electronic gadgets

   Fa Yuen Street-

   Sai Yeung Choi Street-

  • Scenic walk, located next to breathtaking Victoria Harbour… got to Line 10
  • Along avenue, can see HK movie industry (numerous celebrity handprints, descriptive milestones, movie memorabilia, and commemorative plaques)
  • Bronze statue of the cartoon character, MuDull, and a life sized statue of Bruce Lee

  • Most characteristic pedestrian streets
